Network Cabling

Having a reliable network infrastructure is essential for businesses of all sizes. For over 20 years, we have been providing professional network cabling services that help you optimize your communication infrastructure and ensure that your business runs smoothly.

We offer a range of network cabling services, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of:

Copper Cabling: Copper cabling is a popular choice for local area networks (LANs) and can support data speeds of up to 10Gbps. We use high-quality copper cables, such as Category 5e, 6, and 6a (CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6a) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Fibre Optic Cabling: Fibre optic cabling is ideal for high-speed data transmission over longer distances. We use single-mode and multi-mode fibre optic cables to provide fast and secure connections between your network devices.

WiFi Access Points: We can install and configure WiFi access points to provide wireless connectivity throughout your business premises. Our technicians ensure that your WiFi network is secure and optimized for maximum performance.

Labelling: We label all cabling and patch panels for easy identification and troubleshooting. Our labelling system includes cable labels, faceplate labels, and patch panel labels.

Terminations at Server Racks: We terminate all cabling at server racks using high-quality connectors, ensuring that your network devices are connected securely and efficiently.

Overhead Cable Tray: We can install overhead cable trays to provide a safe and organized route for your network cabling. This minimizes cable clutter and makes it easier to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Using Conduits: We use conduits to protect and organize cabling, particularly in areas where cables are exposed to environmental hazards or need to be run through walls or ceilings.

Fibre Optic Cabling

Optic 1 Optic 2 Optic 3 Optic 4

Fiber optic cabling is typically needed when high-speed data transmission is required over long distances or in environments where electromagnetic interference is present. Fibre optic cable installation is preferred over structured cabling because it can be run further and at faster speeds than typical Category cable. It provides an added level of future proofing your network.

Types of fibre installation

Types of Fibre
Accessories include:
Single-mode optic cable: Single-mode optic cables have a small core (about 9 microns in diameter) and are used for long-distance transmissions over tens or hundreds of kilometres.

Multi-mode optic cable: Multimode optic cables have a larger core (between 50 and 62.5 microns in diameter) and are used for shorter distance transmissions up to a few kilometres. The most common types of multi-mode fibres are OM1 (10Gbps, <30m), OM2 (10Gbps, <82m), OM3 (10Gbps, <300m)and OM4 (10Gbps, <550m).

The choice of multi-mode fibre depends on the specific application requirements, such as the required bandwidth, distance, and budget.

LC and SC connectors are two types of fibre optic connectors that are widely used in fibre cabling. Here are the differences and uses of these two connectors:

SC connectors is a fiber-optic cable connector that uses a push-pull latching mechanism similar to that used in common audio/video cables, which makes it very easy to connect and disconnect the cables. SC connectors are commonly used in high-bandwidth applications such as LANs, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks, and CATV networks.

LC connectors are small form factor fiber optic connectors designed for making fast connections in high-density applications. They are a miniaturized version of the earlier SC fiber connector (50% smaller) and feature a square plastic housing with a 1.25 mm ceramic ferrule. LC connectors are commonly used in high-speed data communications applications such as Gigabit Ethernet, and in data centre and enterprise networks.

In general, SC connectors are better suited for applications that require high bandwidth, such as long-distance communication and video transmission, while LC connectors are better suited for high-density applications, such as data centres and enterprise networks, where space is at a premium. However, both connectors are highly reliable and widely used in a variety of fibre optic applications.

Transceivers - SFP stands for Small Form-factor Pluggable, which is a compact and hot-pluggable transceiver used in fibre optic communications. SFP transceivers are used to provide a wide range of connectivity options for network equipment such as switches, routers, and servers.

Media Converters - Fibre to CAT6/RJ45 converters, also known as media converters, are devices that allow for the conversion of fibre optic signals to copper-based Ethernet signals. They are used to extend the reach of network connections beyond the limitations of copper cabling by enabling the use of fibre optic cabling for longer distances. Media converters are used in a variety of applications, such as extending the reach of LAN connections over longer distances, connecting remote network devices over fibre optic cabling, and connecting fibre optic networks to existing copper-based Ethernet networks.
